Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for its upcoming film, Pieces of a Woman starring Vanessa Kirby and Shia LaBeouf. Written by Kata Wéber and based on a shared personal experience with Kornél Mundruczó, the film follows Martha (Kirby) and Sean Carson (LaBeouf), a couple from Boston that is gearing up to be parents. Their lives change instantly when they are in the middle of their home birth at the hands of their flustered midwife (Molly Parker). After the loss of her child, Martha embarks on an emotional journey to not only navigate the tremendous loss and grief, but also her relationships with her husband and mother.
Pieces of a Woman also stars Benny Safdie, Ellen Burstyn, Iliza Shlesinger, Jimmy Fails, and Sarah Snook. The film is executively produced by Martin Scorsese.
Pieces of a Woman premieres on Netflix on January 7, 2021 with a limited theatrical release on December 30.
