‘Saturday Night Live’ Returns With New Episodes Next Month

Everyone’s favorite live sketch comedy show is coming back for season 46! Saturday Night Live (SNL) will be back on NBC starting on October 3 with its first live episode since the Coronavirus pandemic began in March. After season 45 ended with three episodes composed of sketches cast members recorded at home, the future looked unsure at best for SNL. However, NBC has confirmed that the new SNL episodes would be shot in Rockefeller Center’s Studio 8H, the show’s longtime home.

NBC has yet to release any other details about the premiere, including its first list of hosts, or which cast members are returning. It is also unsure who’s joining the ensemble, or even the number of consecutive new episodes the season would begin with, or how many episodes it would include. Keep your eyes on this space for updates.

LeeAnn is children's librarian who joined Nerds and Beyond in 2020 as a way to stretch her writing skills and connect with others who have the same pop culture passions as she does. She loves music, reading (obviously), and any TV show that can grab and hold her attention. Currently some of her favorite things to nerd out over include Supernatural, Prodigal Son, Louden Swain and Percy Jackson (books, theater, or upcoming show - lets leave the movies out of it).
