‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Season 7 Trailer Teases a Whole New World

0

AMC has shared the official trailer for the upcoming season 7 of Fear the Walking Dead, its popular companion series to The Walking Dead.

In season 7, everyone will have to relearn how to live in the apocalypse after Teddy (John Glover) brought forth a nuclear explosion.

“… it will be up to those who survived to decide what “The Beginning” will look like. And they’ll have to do it in a world devoid of light and hope, where the outside air is just as deadly as the walkers they face. The survivors will find out who they really are and what they’re really made of. Some will rise to the occasion, some will find new purpose, and some will redefine themselves — even if it comes at a terrible cost to those they once considered family.”

The trailer, which you can view below, also confirms Aisha Tyler (who directed a season 6 episode) will debut this season.

Fear the Walking Dead season 7 premieres on October 17 at 9 p.m. ET. All episodes will stream one week early for AMC+ subscribers.

0

Halloween Kills, the next addition to Universal’s ever-growing slasher installment, is releasing in theaters and streaming on Peacock on October 15. If you haven’t already checked out the trailer, you can do that here ahead of the film’s release next month.

Halloween Kills is the sequel to 2018’s Halloween, which is a direct sequel to 1978’s Halloween. None of the other films featuring Michael Myers tormenting the town of Haddonfield are apart of this version of the franchise, including Rob Zombie’s 2000s reboot. This means Halloween Kills will be the third installment in this version of the Myers’ story. Jaime Lee Curtis returns to her role as Laurie Strode for the upcoming film.

The sequel will be available to Peacock Premium subscribers at no extra charge. The streaming service runs at $4.99 per month at the ad-supported tier and $9.99 a month advertisement free.

Check out Halloween Kills on Peacock and in theaters on October 15!

‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’ Remake to Come for PlayStation 5

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is striking back. Revealed during Sony’s PlayStation Showcase 2021, Aspyr Media is remaking BioWare and LucasArts’ beloved role-playing game. At launch the game will be PlayStation exclusive, although it is also being developed for Windows PC. While the trailer doesn’t feature gameplay, it does feature the familiar red glow of a lightsaber and an ominous voice over. This combination alone is good enough for most Star Wars fans.

According to Aspyr, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is completely rebuilt from the ground up. Aspyr previously worked on the Mac, Android, and iOS ports of the original Knights of the Old Republic and its sequel, Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Sony Interactive will release the game for PlayStation.

BioWare, the original game’s developer, does not appear to be involved in the remake. In collaboration with LucasFilm Games and PlayStation, Aspyr also recruited members of the original game’s creative team.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake does not currently have a release date, so be sure to check back for updates on this developing game!

‘Marvel’s Wolverine’ Coming to PlayStation 5

0

Before revealing the Marvel’s Spider-Man sequel during Sony’s PlayStation Showcase 2021, game developer veteran Insomniac Games slipped in a surprise reveal: Marvel’s Wolverine. While the trailer doesn’t feature any gameplay, it does give viewers an idea for the game’s aesthetics and tone. It should come as no surprise that we see Wolverine, a Marvel fan-favorite, having a drink at a dive bar in the trailer below.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales alumnus Brian Horton and Cameron Christian will return to the creative team for this game as creative director and game director, respectively. If this game follows the trend of Insomniac’s other Marvel games, gamers will more than likely see a slew of other iconic X-Men heroes and villains.

The game currently does not have a release date, so be sure to check back for updates on the developing game!

‘Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’ Coming to PlayStation 5 Along with Iconic Villain, Venom

0

Get ready gamers: Marvel’s Spider-Man is getting a sequel. On Thursday as part of Sony’s PlayStation Showcase 2021, Insomniac Games released a short trailer to confirm the sequel and tease an iconic Spider-Man villain joining the lineup: Venom.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will swing onto PlayStation 5 in 2023 and will feature both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as NYC’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Men. Yuri Lowenthal and Nadji Jeter will reprise their roles as Peter and Miles, while Tony Todd (Candyman) will join the voice cast as Venom.

Insomniac Games

Marvel’s Spider-Man launched in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and was a huge success for both Insomniac Games and Sony. The game starred Peter Parker and featured a staggering amount of iconic Spidey villains, including Doc Ock and Mister Negative. The ending to the game left plenty of room for a sequel, so it’s only been a matter of time before the sequel was official.

A spin-off, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, launched in late 2020 for both the PlayStation 4 & 5. The stand-alone title continues the story introduced in Marvel’s Spider-Man of Miles Morales’ transformation into a web-slinger.

Be sure to check out the trailer for the sequel above, and check back for updates on this developing game while we await the 2023 release!

‘Dexter: New Blood’: Showtime Unveils Official Trailer

0

After teasing fans during Comic-Con@Home, Showtime has finally released the official trailer for Dexter: New Blood!

Set 10 years after the events of the season 8 finale, Dexter still very much carries the burden of his Dark Passenger. As he says himself, he’s an evolving monster. He now lives as Jim Lindsay in upstate New York, in the town of Iron Lake. The new trailer suggests his old ways are mostly behind him. However, he hasn’t forgotten who he used to be. When Dexter learns about residents disappearing, his old playmate beckons him once again. Despite years of laying low, will Dexter be able to resist the temptation of getting rid of a bad guy for good?

Watch the trailer below. Then, read on as we unpack some of what happened.

If we weren’t already excited for this next chapter, this trailer really sets the stage for some of what we can expect. First things first, Dexter remains the peak embodiment of “fake it ’til you make it.” His new life as Jim Lindsay shows that not only did he maintain his skills of fitting in, but this time, he’s an especially amiable and well-liked guy around town. He even still brings pastries to his co-workers! And though he doesn’t work with the police department, he still keeps it close to his chest, thanks to his girlfriend Angela Bishop — an officer with Iron Lake PD. So, we all know what happened with Dexter’s former love interests. What’s his real endgame?

Well, according to Debra Morgan, he’s still a serial killer, and nothing has really changed. Jennifer Carpenter returns to reprise her role as Dexter’s (now very dead…) sister. Like Harry, it’s clear that she’s one ghost from the past Dexter simply won’t be able to shake. One line from Deb really jumps out, though:

“You’ve loved that you’re getting away with murder, and you cannot wait to kill again.”

Okay, listen. She could easily be referring to the body count he racked up during the show’s original run. Eight seasons is a lot of time to kill. Regardless of the extremely close calls he had first with Doakes and later with LaGuerta, he did manage to get away with murder. But Deb’s specific wording may also imply that all this time in hiding, Dexter probably never did stop. Or, at the very least, he killed far less frequently. His interest in the missing persons case really could be that dark, gnawing desire clawing its way back up after all this time.

Another major moment of this trailer comes at the very end. A mysterious person lurks inside Dexter’s home. He’s ready to defend himself at any moment, until the mystery person, who’s just a teen, tells Dexter exactly who he is.

“It’s me. Your son.”

Welcome back, Harrison. How’ve you been? How was Argentina? How’s Hannah? Where’s Hannah? Do you know that your father is a serial killer?

Well, we won’t get answers right away for any of those questions. There are still a few surprises on the way, including how John Lithgow’s Arthur Mitchell/Trinity Killer will be re-introduced to the show. Though we’ll have to wait for just a little bit longer, this new chapter already seems like the closure viewers have been needing for eight years.

Dexter: New Blood premieres on Sunday, November 7 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on Showtime. Stay tuned for our recaps and review. Find the rest of our coverage here.
