‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’ Remake to Come for PlayStation 5

Aspyr Media

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is striking back. Revealed during Sony’s PlayStation Showcase 2021, Aspyr Media is remaking BioWare and LucasArts’ beloved role-playing game. At launch the game will be PlayStation exclusive, although it is also being developed for Windows PC. While the trailer doesn’t feature gameplay, it does feature the familiar red glow of a lightsaber and an ominous voice over. This combination alone is good enough for most Star Wars fans.

According to Aspyr, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is completely rebuilt from the ground up. Aspyr previously worked on the Mac, Android, and iOS ports of the original Knights of the Old Republic and its sequel, Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Sony Interactive will release the game for PlayStation.

BioWare, the original game’s developer, does not appear to be involved in the remake. In collaboration with LucasFilm Games and PlayStation, Aspyr also recruited members of the original game’s creative team.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake does not currently have a release date, so be sure to check back for updates on this developing game!
