‘Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’ Coming to PlayStation 5 Along with Iconic Villain, Venom
Get ready gamers: Marvel’s Spider-Man is getting a sequel. On Thursday as part of Sony’s PlayStation Showcase 2021, Insomniac Games released a short trailer to confirm the sequel and tease an iconic Spider-Man villain joining the lineup: Venom.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will swing onto PlayStation 5 in 2023 and will feature both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as NYC’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Men. Yuri Lowenthal and Nadji Jeter will reprise their roles as Peter and Miles, while Tony Todd (Candyman) will join the voice cast as Venom.
Marvel’s Spider-Man launched in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and was a huge success for both Insomniac Games and Sony. The game starred Peter Parker and featured a staggering amount of iconic Spidey villains, including Doc Ock and Mister Negative. The ending to the game left plenty of room for a sequel, so it’s only been a matter of time before the sequel was official.
A spin-off, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, launched in late 2020 for both the PlayStation 4 & 5. The stand-alone title continues the story introduced in Marvel’s Spider-Man of Miles Morales’ transformation into a web-slinger.
Be sure to check out the trailer for the sequel above, and check back for updates on this developing game while we await the 2023 release!
