Pedro Pascal is staying booked and busy. Just off the wings of the announcement for his role in the upcoming Gladiator sequel from Paramount, another film role is joining the ranks.
Pascal has signed onto the next horror flick from Barbarian creator Zach Cregger. The film titled Weapons will be written and directed by Cregger for New Line. Cregger’s debut outing Barbarian was a massive success at the box office and with critics, a rare feat these days, opening at the number one slot in the box office last year while making over 10 times its original budget.
Details of Weapons are being kept under wraps, but according to The Hollywood Reporter is described as “an interrelated multistory horror epic that is tonally in the vein of Magnolia” from Paul Thomas Anderson.
The shoot is being planned for this fall.
Pascal’s next project is the Cannes-premiering short Strange Way of Life from Pedro Almodóvar, as well as an indie film The Uninvited, Freaky Tales from the Captain Marvel creators, and a short cameo in Ethan Coen’s Drive-Away Dolls along with the previously announced role in the Gladiator sequel.
