Monica Bellucci is in final talks to join the cast of Beetlejuice 2, expected to take on the role of Beetlejuice’s wife.
The cast features returning stars Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder, reprising their original roles of the titular character and Lydia Deetz, as well as fellow returnee Catherine O’Hara. Additional cast for the project includes Jenna Ortega as Lydia Deetz’s daughter and Justin Theroux in an unnamed role.
Plot details are being hidden under a ghostly sheet for Tim Burton’s sequel to his 1988 hit, but the film did receive an official Fall 2024 release from Warner Bros. Pictures earlier this week as production was set to begin.
