The Darksaber may be no more, but Pedro Pascal is ready to take up arms once again. This time, he’ll be seen suiting up in armor for Ridley Scott’s Gladiator sequel at Paramount.

Pascal is in final negotiations to join the cast that already boasts Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan, and Denzel Washington. Details on Pascal’s role are currently being kept under wraps.

David Scarpa will write the script with the acclaimed Ridley Scott directing. The sequel will focus on Lucius, played by Paul Mescal, the son of Lucilla (played by the returning Connie Nielsen), the lover of the original gladiator Maximus (famously played by Russell Crowe).

This news was first reported by Deadline.

Paramount currently has the film slated for a November 22, 2024 release. Stay tuned with Nerds & Beyond for updates.
