Pedro Pascal, Ben Mendelsohn, Jay Ellis are set to star in a new film from Captain Marvel runners Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden. Jack Champion, Angus Cloud, Dominque Thorne, Keir Gilchrist, and Michelle Farrah Huang are also set to star alongside many notable Oakland natives.
The film, Freaky Tales, is set in Oakland, Ca. in 1987 and will tell four interconnected stories featuring distinct characters, real-life locations, and some real and some fictional historical events. It is based on Fleck’s experiences growing up in the Bay Area.
No release or production dates have been released but the film will be financed by eOne with Oakland native Raphael Saadiq overseeing the film’s music.
