The highly anticipated multi-season series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will make a two-episode premiere exclusively on Prime Video on Friday, September 2. Following the premiere, episodes will be available weekly.

To get fans ready for the series, a new 2-minute-and-36-second trailer has been released.

The trailer showcases the expanse of Middle-earth in its Second Age and offers a glimpse at how the legendary characters from the mind of J.R.R. Tolkien will come together against all odds and monumental distances to band together against the re-emergence of evil in Middle-earth. In this era, thousands of years before The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books, kingdoms will rise to glory and fall to ruin, unlikely heroes will be tested, all while hope hangs by a fine thread as one of the greatest villains ever penned by Tolkien threatens to cover the world in darkness.
