In speaking on his first Emmy nomination, James Lance (who portrays the one and only Trent Crimm) said, “I’m on our first ever family holiday with our little boy, so today was already a doozy. But Hannah Waddingham just Facetimed me kinda cry/laughing with this extraordinary news. I told her I love her. I’m kinda cry/laughing now too because this is beyond my wildest dreams. I’m over the moon. What a day for my wonderful Ted Lasso family.”

The series ultimately brought home seven wins at the 2021 Emmys following 20 nominations, so let’s see what 2022 has in store!

Ted Lasso follows the story of a small-time college football coach (portrayed by Jason Sudeikis) from Kansas who’s hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite the fact that he knows next to nothing about the sport. However, what he lacks in experience, he makes up for with his neverending enthusiasm (and his Ted-isms).

Production on season 3 of Ted Lasso is currently underway. In the meantime, seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming exclusively on Apple TV+. Check out our season 2 review here.
