The nominees for the 74th annual Emmy Awards were announced today, recognizing achievements in television from June 1, 2021 through May 31, 2022.

Netflix’s live-action adaptation of The Witcher received three nominations across various categories:

  • Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series, Limited or Anthology Series or Movie
  • Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes – “Family”
  • Outstanding Special or Visual Effects in a Season or Movie

The Witcher follows quite a few colorful characters living on the Continent, but primarily focuses on the Witcher himself: Geralt of Rivia (Cavill). A monster-killer-for-hire, Geralt travels the Continent to have coins tossed his way in exchange for hunting and killing many dangerous monsters. Geralt’s travels in season 1 introduced us to a variety of characters such as Geralt’s primary love interest, Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), Ciri (Freya Allan), and fan-favorite Jaskier (Joey Batey), all of whom feature heavily in season 2 of the series as well.

Production is currently underway on season 3 of The Witcher. You can find our coverage for the series here.
