The nominees for the 74th annual Emmy Awards were announced today, recognizing achievements in television from June 1, 2021 through May 31, 2022.

Popular animated series Rick and Morty may bring home a third Emmy under the Outstanding Animated Program category, for which it has already won in 2018 and 2020. This year the series will go up against Arcane, Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, and Marvel Studios’ What If…?.

Season 6 of Rick and Morty is expected to air sometime late this year or early 2023.

The 74th annual Emmy Awards are set to take place on September 12. However, the Creative Arts Emmy Awards will happen first on September 3-4. An edited presentation will be aired on September 10, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FXX.
