The nominees for the 74th annual Emmys were announced today. The awards recognize achievements in television programming from June 1, 2021 through May 31, 2022.

Arcane, Riot Games and Fortiche Productions flagship animated series, has been nominated in two categories in the 2022 Emmy awards.

The series’ first nomination is for Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy or Drama or Series (Half-Hour) and Animation, and its second is the coveted Outstanding Animated Program.

Both of the nominations cite Arcane season 1, episode 6 “When These Walls Come Tumbling Down.”

If Arcane takes home any of these titles in September, Riot Games will be able to add them to their already bulging awards shelf — Arcane already swept the Annie Awards earlier this year, bringing home nine trophies and winning every category that it was nominated in.

Arcane does have some stiff competition for the Emmys, particularly in the Outstanding Animated Program category, where it is up against Marvel’s What If…? as well as Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, and Rick and Morty.

Season 1 of Arcane introduced fans both old and new to Vi and Jinx, sisters separated by time and circumstance, whose choices have an explosive impact on the fate of their divided city and many of its other inhabitants. The series received rave reviews from both fans of the game and general audiences alike.

If you want to take a peek at the brilliant storytelling and excellent animation that landed Arcane these well earned nominations, season one of the show is currently streaming on Netflix. Season 2 is currently in production.

The 74th annual Emmy Awards are set to take place on September 12.
