Last year, a stage play adaptation of Gege Akutami’s hit manga and anime series Jujutsu Kaisen was announced, with Kohei Kiyasu on the script and Kensaku Kobayashi directing. Now, with just a few months to go until the premiere, photos of the cast in costume and a teaser video have been released!

Go here to see individual photos of the cast, whose costumes, makeup, and prosthetics are incredibly spot-on, promising an immersive performance.

The stage play will run from July 15-31 in Tokyo and August 8-14 in Osaka. More information on tickets and the schedule can be found here.

Jujutsu Kaisen started off as a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, and it has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since 2018. It was then adapted into an anime in 2020. Following the 24-episode first season, a second season was confirmed earlier this year and is due to premiere in 2023. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is currently playing in theaters, which serves as a prequel story to the events that take place in the anime.

Jujutsu Kaisen follows the story of Yuji Itadori, a boy whose ordinary high school life is turned upside down when he swallows the finger of an ancient, powerful curse named Ryomen Sukuna and thus becomes host to the King of Curses. From there, he finds himself thrust into a secret organization of sorcerers who work tirelessly to exorcise the world of the dangerous, unseen curses that are formed by negative human emotions.
