‘Hawkeye’ Character Posters Released, Including Lucky the Pizza Dog

This time next week, the first two episodes of Marvel Studios’ action-packed, festive new series Hawkeye will have finally landed on Disney+. In the meantime, character posters featuring our lead heroes (including one on four legs) have been released!

Hawkeye is set in post-Blip New York City where former Avenger Clint Barton aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. But when a threat from his past shows up, Hawkeye reluctantly teams up with Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), a 22-year-old skilled archer and his biggest fan, to unravel a criminal conspiracy.

While Renner’s Clint Barton has been in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for quite some time, Hawkeye marks the live-action debut of Kate Bishop, a character that was first introduced in the 2005 Young Avengers comic run (where she would eventually go on to take on the mantle of Hawkeye herself). Clint and Kate’s most iconic adventures together took place in Matt Fraction and David Aja’s critically acclaimed 2012 Hawkeye comic series, which served as inspiration for the upcoming show.

Fraction and Aja’s series also gave us another beloved character — Lucky the Pizza Dog. In the comics, he originally belonged to the Tracksuit Mafia, and his name was Arrow. Clint renamed him “Lucky” when he rescued him and took ownership of him, following a sad incident that resulted in the loss of use of his left eye. He would go on to become a loyal sidekick to both Clint and Kate. Lucky will be appearing in the television series as well, and he even received his own poster today alongside his archer pals.

The cast also includes Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James, and Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez.

Watch the official trailer below.

Hawkeye is helmed by Rhys Thomas and directing duo Bert and Bertie.

The first two episodes of Hawkeye will premiere exclusively on Disney+ next Wednesday, November 24. Stay tuned for our weekly coverage, including episodic recaps, theories, reviews, and more!
