Star Wars fans are getting a look at three new faces in the High Republic publishing campaign. Lucasfilm released some new details about Justina Ireland’s new middle-grade novel Star Wars: The High Republic: Mission to Disaster.

According to, we will “get to see what life is like at the Jedi temple on the planet Dalna, which plays a key role in the entire initiative.” Readers will also meet more “everyday” Jedi.

Here’s a look at three of the new characters fans will get to know:

Lyssa Votz is the Jedi Archivist of the Jedi temple on Dalna. Lucasfilm says she hates fighting and doesn’t crave adventures. You can always find her with a data pad in hand.

Nyla Quinn is the Jedi Master at the temple. She’s known for being kind, and does her best to help the people of Dalna even though they are suspicious of Jedi.

Then there is Yacek Sparkburn. He is a Jedi Knight, serving under Master Quinn. He’s not sure if he’s related to the famous Sparkburn family and Jordanna Sparkburn, who we met in Star Wars: The High Republic: Out of the Shadows. Yacek is known to be boisterous and is apparently a great cook!

Fan favorites Padawan Imri Cantaros and Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh will also find themselves on Dalna working with these three Jedi.

Star Wars: The High Republic: Mission to Disaster arrives on January 4, 2022, and is available for pre-order now. Stay with Nerds & Beyond for the latest High Republic news.
