It’s been over a year since the first teaser trailer for the upcoming detective noir film The Batman was released at 2020’s DC Fandome event. Thankfully, fans received a second trailer at this year’s event on October 16.

The Batman is a reboot of the iconic DC Comics property spanning all the way back to 1939. This film thrusts The Lighthouse alumni Robert Pattinson in the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Pattinson will star alongside Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, and Paul Dano as The Riddler. The Batman is written by Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, with Reeves directing the film as well.

Reeves previously revealed that the film takes place in the second year of Wayne deciding to become Batman, so the vigilante is still green and figuring out what it means to be a hero in Gotham. With no less than four infamous villains being pulled from the comics and planted on the big screen for this movie, Batman will have plenty to handle.

The Batman currently has a release date of March 4, 2022. Check out the trailer below!
