‘The Black Phone’ Trailer Starring Ethan Hawke Released

Universal Pictures and Blumhouse have released the first trailer for their upcoming film, The Black Phone. Written, directed, and produced by Scott Derrickson, The Black Phone combines the elements of crime, drama, and horror into a unique and surprising experience. The film’s screenplay based on the award-winning short story by Joe Hill.

The Black Phone stars Mason Thames as Finney Shaw, a shy boy who is abducted by a sadistic killer, played by veteran actor Ethan Hawke. Trapped in a soundproof basement, Finney is forced to rely on unexpected forces to make his escape. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of his kidnappers’ previous victims. These voices are fixated on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney.
