DreamWorks Announces New Series ‘Dragons: The Nine Realms’

DreamWorks has announced Dragons: The Nine Realms, an all new series inspired by the popular How to Train Your Dragon franchise.

Set to premiere on Hulu and Peacock on December 23, the new animated series will consist of six episodes. However, you can expect a lot to happen in those six episodes as the show will be set 1,300 years after the events of How to Train Your Dragon when dragons are little more than a legend. Leaving the show to tell the story of how the truth about dragons comes to light, in a modern world.

Jeremy Shada (Adventure Time, Julie and the Phantoms) is the only voice actor announced thus far, and you can catch a glimpse of his character in the teaser trailer that dropped with the announcement. The teaser reveals little about the series. However, it does show a new dragon and rider flying over what is clearly a modern landscape.

Dragons: The Nine Realms is premiering on Hulu and Peacock on December 23. Check out the new trailer below.
