Following an emotional five-episode run with Scenes from a Marriage, co-stars Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain are set to appear on the talk show The View this Friday, October 15!
Scenes from a Marriage, Hagai Levi’s modern adaptation of Ingmar Bergman’s classic Swedish miniseries, explores love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage, and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple. All five episodes of the series are now streaming on HBO Max. Read our full review here.
Isaac and Chastain, with a friendship spanning over 20 years, previously played a married couple in the 2014 film A Most Violent Year, a crime drama set in New York City in the winter of 1981 (which is statistically the most dangerous year in the city’s history). Their existing friendship and trust carried over heavily in Scenes form a Marriage, manifesting an incredible amount of on-screen chemistry between their characters Jonathan and Mira.
Scenes from a Marriage arrives on the heels of Isaac’s searing starring role in Paul Schrader’s revenge thriller The Card Counter, which premiered last month. He’s also set to star in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel that will hit theaters in the U.S. next week. Check out our recent overview of Isaac’s many upcoming roles.
A new trailer was recently released for Chastain’s upcoming espionage thriller The 355, in which she portrays wild card CIA agent Mason “Mace” Brown. After some considerable release date shuffling, the film is finally due to hit theaters next year on January 7.
The View airs weekdays on ABC at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. CT/PT and is also available to stream on Hulu.
