Trailer Release for Joel Coen’s ‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’
Prepare to hear some of Shakespeare’s most famous words because, something wicked this way comes. The infamous Scottish play has been adapted for the screen again, and this time some of Hollywood’s biggest stars have signed on.
The Tragedy of Macbeth will star award winning leading man Denzel Washington in the role of Macbeth. Alongside Washington in the role of Lady Macbeth is Academy Award winning actress Frances McDormand. The rest of the cast is stacked with many familiar and award winning faces like Brendan Gleeson, Corey Hawkins, Harry Melling, Jacob McCarthy, Kathryn Hunter, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Moses Ingram. At the helm of this endeavor is the brilliant Joel Coen who has taken on the jobs of writing and directing the movie.
Taking on the story of Macbeth is no easy task, but by the look of this trailer Joel Coen is more than up to the task! The preview shows the cinematography will be absolutely breathtaking. From the first shot of two men walking through the fog towards three cloaked figures, you can see the specific tone of the film, that will be entirely in a black and white color scheme. As the trailer comes to a close you hear a voice warn viewers, “by the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes.” A film like this is sure to be in the spotlight and bring buzz to the upcoming award season.
The Tragedy of Macbeth will be in theaters on Christmas day, December 25, and available to stream on Apple TV January 14.
