Last night marked the inaugural Hollywood Critics Associate (HCA) TV Awards ceremony, and among the winners was the epic, live-action Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian.
The premiere of The Mandalorian coincided with the debut of Disney+ back in late 2019, introducing audiences to a mysterious and skilled lone bounty hunter named Din Djarin (portrayed by Pedro Pascal). Taking place in the tumultuous era following the collapse of the Galactic Empire, the series sees the Mandalorian traverse the dangerous and unforgiving outer reaches of the galaxy. Audiences were quickly captivated not only by the show’s intriguing, beskar-wearing lead, but also by his bounty-turned-sidekick the Child aka Grogu.
The Mandalorian was nominated for four HCA awards in total and ultimately brought home a win for Best Streaming Series, Drama.
Seasons 1 and 2 of The Mandalorian are now streaming exclusively on Disney+. Catch up on our episodic recaps, reviews, and more. Also, make sure to tune in to watch the upcoming Emmy Awards on September 19 to see which of its 24 nominations the series will win!
