‘His Dark Materials’ Adds New Cast Members as Filming Begins

HBO has announced several new cast members for its hit series His Dark Materials today as filming begins on the third and final season of the show! Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will play Commander Ogunwe, while Jamie Ward will play Father Gomez. Fan-favorite angels Balthamos and Baruch will be played by Kobna Holdbrook-Smith and Simon Harrison, respectively, while Xaphania will be played by Chipo Chung. The final new addition is Amber Fitzgerald-Woolfe as Ama.

Season 3 of the show will follow The Amber Spyglass, the final book in the His Dark Materials trilogy. According to HBO, “Season three will see Will (Amir Wilson), the bearer of The Subtle Knife, and Lyra (Dafne Keen), the prophesied child, travel through multiple worlds to find and protect each other.”

There is no release date set for the new season yet.
