With only two episodes left of season 8, we know that one character’s story will reach its final destination. According to Deadline, Megan Boone (“Elizabeth Keen”) will not be returning to the series for its ninth season. This may come as a shock to fans, who already experienced Boone’s foreshadowed absence in eight episodes from this season, but most likely weren’t expecting Boone to make a permanent exit.

With news breaking about Boone, it may lead fans to wonder where her story will end in the last two episodes of the drama’s eighth season. According to a recent interview from TV Insider with creator and executive producer Jon Bokenkamp, he explains in episode 8×21 entitled “Nachalo” that “…we’re going to go back to the very beginning and unpack answers to eight years worth of questions.” There are so many questions and not enough answers, but all that may change once the last two episodes of this season air.
