‘The Blacklist’ Star Megan Boone Launches Production Company Following Series Exit

After starring as Elizabeth Keen on the long-running NBC drama, The Blacklist, Megan Boone is starting a new journey, but not all of it will be new. According to Deadline, Boone has launched a production company entitled Weird Sister, and she signed a first-look deal with Sony Pictures Television – the same studio involved with The Blacklist.

Based on information from Deadline, it appears that Boone will produce and create new series projects, and she’s in the process of hiring a development executive. This deal may have been made before her departure as a series regular from NBC’s Blacklist, and fans may have seen Boone’s departure foreshadowed when her character was absent for eight episodes in this most recent season.

Here is what Boone had to say regarding her production company’s unique title:

“‘The name Weird Sister encapsulates some of the most important aspects of what I aspire to with my company. Weird Sister is woman-led and embraces difference. I view alternative perspectives & abnormalities as essential strengths in the people I collaborate with, the character-driven stories I want to tell, and the unique worlds I look forward to crafting with a diverse team of collaborators.”‘

We’re excited to see this team-up between Megan Boone, Weird Sister, and Sony Pictures!
