‘Cruel Summer’ Renewed for Second Season, Becomes Most-Watched Series on Freeform

Share:

Cruel Summer has quickly proven itself to be the show of the summer. The limited series swept network TV off its feet with its compelling and suspenseful storyline that is set to come to a close tonight.

However, that close will not be as permanent as we think. Cruel Summer has been renewed for a second season at Freeform! In addition to the show getting renewed, it’s been revealed that Cruel Summer has become the most-watched show on Freeform ever!

Cruel Summer stars Olivia Holt, Chiara Aurelia, Michael Landes, Froy Gutierrez, Harley Quinn Smith, Allius Barnes, Blake Lee, and Brooklyn Sudano. The show primarily focuses on the lives of two girls across three different summers, — 1993, 1994, and 1995 — popular small-town teen Kate Wallis, who mysteriously disappears, and the younger (and nerdier) Jeanette Turner, who is accused of being connected to Kate’s disappearance after she seems to blossom into popularity when Kate disappears.

Make sure to tune in tonight to see Cruel Summer‘s first season come to an end tonight at 9 p.m. CT on Freeform, and check out all of our content on the show (including recaps) here.
