Shemar Moore has joined the cast of the Paramount Pictures sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in an undisclosed role. Announced on his Instagram page earlier today, Moore joins Natasha Rothwell, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Ben Schwartz. Jeff Fowler is set to return as director with a release date set for April 2022.

Little is confirmed about what the sequel will entail, but we can’t wait to see exactly who Moore will play. It’s safe to assume he won’t be voicing a character, so the possibilities are endless. We’ll just have to wait and see!

Moore is best known for his roles on Criminal Minds and S.W.A.T. as Derek Morgan and Daniel Harrelson, respectively. Stay tuned for further updates.
