After the exciting late-December announcement about the season 3 renewal of Netflix’s romantic drama Virgin River, fans have been eagerly waiting for a trailer. We learned a few weeks ago that the show is departing from the late fall release schedule that the previous two seasons have had, instead opting for an early July premiere. And now, today, we finally have a trailer.

Virgin River, which is based on the book series by Robyn Carr, follows the story of Melinda Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a widowed big-city nurse who moves to a remote town in Northern California. Virgin River also stars Martin Henderson, Colin Lawrence, Lauren Hammersley, Annette O’Toole, Tim Matheson, and more.

Season 2 left us off with a killer series of cliffhangers — Preacher suddenly found himself responsible for Paige/Michelle’s son Christopher, Doc received ominous news from his doctor, and Mel arrived at the bar to find Jack bleeding out on the floor from a gunshot wound.

As per the trailer, we know that Jack is going to be just fine. And while Charmaine seems to be busy with a man named Todd, Jack and Mel appear to be quite busy stoking the flames of their romance. Things can never be easy for these two, though, because it sounds like their problem of the season will be Mel’s interest in trying for a baby again. As for Doc, the terrible news is that he might be going blind.

Strap in, because it looks like we’re in for another emotional season in the beautiful town of Virgin River.

The ten-episode third season of Virgin River will begin streaming on Netflix on July 9.
