It looks like audiences won’t be saying goodbye to the dreamy, picturesque landscape of Netflix’s Virgin River anytime soon. While we still have to wait until this fall to dig back into all the small town gossip and drama — September 7, to be exact — it was revealed today that the series has already been renewed for a sixth season! Previously, the show received a two-season renewal for seasons 4 and 5.
Based on the book series by Robyn Carr, Virgin River follows the story of Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a grieving nurse practioner who leaves behind her big-city life to start anew in a remote town in Northern California.
The show also stars Martin Henderson, Colin Lawrence, Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Grayson Maxwell Gurnsey, Lauren Hammersley, Mark Ghanimé, and Kai Bradbury. Patrick Sean Smith took over as showrunner for the upcoming fifth season.
While the synopsis for season 5 has yet to be revealed, as per Netflix’s Tudum, answers to many questions from the prior season are on the way. And to nobody’s surprise, new characters will be drifting into town as well.
Stay tuned for more news on Virgin River!
