With less than a week to go until we finally learn the story of Evan “Buck” Buckley, a new promo for the upcoming episode “Buck Begins” of FOX’s hit first responder drama 9-1-1 has arrived.

9-1-1 just recently entered its fourth season, and over the years the show has presented its “Begins” series, which are character-centric episodes that dive into the backstory of a particular person. These episodes are always guaranteed to be emotional, high-stakes journeys, with the most recent being Eddie’s heart-pounding fight for survival in the tunnel juxtaposed with the agonizing story of how he earned his silver star in the army. We’ve also seen “Begins” episodes for Bobby, Athena, Hen, and Chimney.

Through all of this, fans have been patiently hoping and waiting to see Oliver Stark’s Buck get his own chapter as well. After the tragic bombshell that was dropped in this week’s episode “9-1-1, What’s Your Grievance?” the stage has finally been set for “Buck Begins.”

Watch the new promo for “Buck Begins” below.

In the final moments of the previous episode, Maddie told Buck that the boy in the photo was their brother who died, Daniel. The episode came to a close before Buck could respond, but according to this promo, we’ll hopefully pick back up on that conversation — “I had a brother? I don’t understand why no one told me.”

“Buck Begins” will find the 118 responding to a dangerous 5-alarm fire … and Buck — of course — ends up trapped. The stills from the episode that have already been released include photos of the fire, along with flashbacks of the Buckley family. It remains to be seen how the format of this “Begins” episode will play out, as we’ve seen it done several different ways thus far.

The official synopsis for the episode is as follows:

“The 118 race to save the lives of workers trapped in a five-alarm factory fire. Meanwhile, Maddie reveals a painful family secret that causes Buck to confront his childhood and answer why he is the daredevil he is today”

“Buck Begins” will air on FOX on Monday, February 15 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, followed by a new episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star at 9 p.m ET/PT.
