Jinkies! ‘Scooby-Doo’s Velma Dinkley Gets Standalone Series From HBO Max Starring Mindy Kaling

Get ready, Scooby-Doo fans, one of our favorite members of the Scooby gang is returning to our screens!

As part of a larger push for adult animation series, HBO Max has revealed that among their animated slate is a Velma Dinkley-centric show titled Velma. The streamer has already issued a 10-episode order for Velma. The series will be a prequel that will dive into Velma’s origin story. Mindy Kaling is set to voice the title role.

According to a statement from HBO Max, Velma will “unmask the complex and colorful past of one of America’s most beloved mystery solvers.” Warner Bros. Animation will produce. Kaling, Charlie Grandy, Sam Register, and Howard Klein will executive produce.
