Disney Channel Announces New Show ‘Hamster and Gretel’ from ‘Phineas and Ferb’ Co-Creator Dan Povenmire
Disney Channel just released some exciting news for fans of Phineas and Ferb and Milo Murphy’s Law, a new show by the show’s co-creator Dan Povenmire, has officially been given the green light. The show will be an animated superhero comedy titled Hamster and Gretel and is inspired by Povenmire’s relationship with his younger sister.

Hamster and Gretel will tell the story of Kevin and his younger sister, Gretel, who are randomly approached by aliens who inform them that the siblings have been chosen to receive superpowers, except something goes wrong. It’s Gretel and, you guessed it, her hamster (named Hamster) who actually gets the powers. This leads to some problems, especially when Kevin goes into overprotective brother mode and tries to help Gretel and Hamster protect their city. In true Povenmire fashion, the show is set to tell a heartwarming story with the perfect blend of comedy and action, not to mention some killer musical numbers. Although much like Phineas and Ferb and Milo Murphy’s Law, the concept of Hamster & Gretel sounds a bit odd when you first hear it, Povenmire’s 15-year history at Disney has taught us that his ideas, however weird, play out beautifully onscreen. So, although we do not have any more information for you now, hopefully, we will get to see Povenmire’s vision on screen sooner than later. With that in mind, keep an eye on this space for updates as they become available.
