Summer Vacation Will Never be the Same As ‘Phineas and Ferb’ Returns for New Episodes

Disney Channel

In an announcement today from Disney Branded Television’s president Ayo Davis it was revealed that the hit animated show Phineas and Ferb is coming back!

A 40 episode revival of the beloved show, to be split over two seasons, was announced as part of a deal between show co-creator Dan Povenmire and Disney. The deal also included a second season pickup for Povenmire’s most recent show Hamster and Gretel. Unfortunately, nothing has been mentioned about reviving the tragically short-lived Milo Murphy’s Law.

Davis expressed Disney’s enthusiasm for this new chapter in the Phineas and Ferb universe, and I’m sure fans of the show share this enthusiasm as well! Having premiered on Disney Channel in 2008, after a strong showing during the summer 2007 teaser episodes, Phineas and Ferb became the highest-rated series among kids 6-11 and 9-14 in Disney Television Animation History! It ultimately ran for four seasons, and spawned two movies: 2011’s Disney Channel movie Across the 2nd Dimension and 2020’s Disney+ feature Candace Against the Universe. The series is now available for streaming on Disney+ and has become a cultural icon for a whole generation.

At this time it is unclear where the show will actually air, as Disney Branded TV currently produces shows across Disney Channel, Disney+, Disney Junior, and Disney XD. However, fans can keep an eye on this page for more updates, or if they want the information straight from the source, Povenmire is active on Twitter and TikTok. In fact he posted the video below earlier today to address the new show.
