With the classic teen sci-fi series Roswell recently celebrating its 21st birthday, original stars Majandra Delfino and Brendan Fehr have officially announced their long-awaited successor series Baron and Toluca. The only catch? They need fans’ help to return to Roswell, NM.

On the original Roswell, Delfino and Fehr played Maria and Michael, a human and an alien whose shared sense of humor and tendency to butt heads evolved into a romance over the course of three seasons (and earned the ship name “Candy”). In real life, the two stars have remained close friends, and back in 2016, they announced their intention to turn that friendship into collaboration on a new series meant as a love letter to Roswell fans. The premise for Baron and Toluca is simple: Jake Baron and Toluca Mendez once starred on a teen sci-fi romance series (sound familiar)? They love to hate each other, and as their lives have moved in separate directions, they reunite in Roswell, NM in a twist of fate. But after a wild night involving real-life alien abduction, Baron and Toluca realize that the only way to figure out what’s going on is to rely on each other.

Fehr and Delfino have launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise the money to produce a full-length version of their idea, with a short teaser and ten-minute “pilot” released with the campaign. In a statement on their Indiegogo page, both discussed their excitement to provide a new series for loyal Roswell fans to enjoy:

‘Roswell’ was an amazing experience for the both of us. While we were actors on ‘Roswell’, we were also giant fans of Michael and Maria, their chemistry and the world of Max, Liz, Isabel, Michael, Maria, Kyle, Alex…even Topolsky! Did we mention there’s a REALLY good chance a lot of these people show up in ‘B+T’?

After ‘Roswell’ got cancelled, we felt that nothing on TV captured the distinct magic of the show. That sparked an idea. An obsession really. We went to work with the idea of paying homage to that particular sci-fi genre and the distinct chemistry of Michael and Maria.

From there ‘B+T’ was born. Not a reboot. Not a prequel. But a spiritual successor to a show we all loved so much. A new, original sci-fi drama that will warm the hearts of our fans of yesteryear and capture the hearts of brand new ones.

There are plenty of perks being offered, from merch to autographs to video chats with Delfino and Fehr. There’s even a chance to be an extra in Baron and Toluca when production begins. Check out the teasers for the show below, and head over to Indiegogo for all the details and perks!
