‘The Croods’ Sequel Marks New Age for the Franchise
They’re back! After years of waiting for the new The Croods film, DreamWorks has released the first trailer for the sequel, The Croods: New Age! The film sees the return of some of the original voice cast including: Nicolas Cage as Grug Crood, Catherine Keener as Ugga Crood, Emma Stone as their daughter Eep, Ryan Reynolds as Eep’s boyfriend Guy, Clark Duke as Thunk, and Cloris Leachman as Gran.
Much like the first film, the Croods will have yet another set of challenges to face but this time with another family (The Bettermans) instead of having to survive the end of the world and fight off fanged beasts. The Bettermans are just slightly more advanced and civilized than the Croods — they have a better shelter, inventions, and irrigated land. When the family takes in the Croods, marking them the world’s first house guests, tensions inevitably arise. Eventually, a new threat is presented to both families that will force them to set their differences aside and fight alongside one another to forge a better future.
The Croods: New Age also stars Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) as Phil Betterman, Leslie Mann (Blockers) as Hope Betterman, and Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) as their daughter, Dawn.
