La La Land is headed for Broadway! The six-time Academy Award-winning movie, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, is being adapted for the stage. Marc Platt, a Tony Award and Emmy Award-winning producer, made the exciting musical announcement.

La La Land follows the story of a couple who attempt to pursue their dreams in the City of Angels, Los Angeles. Sebastian, played by Gosling, is a struggling jazz pianist who meets Stone’s Mia. Mia dreams of becoming a successful actress, but both find the road to their dreams is not an easy one. With an Oscar-winning original score and original song, this movie was made for the stage.

This adaptation follows in the footsteps of several other Lionsgate film and television projects being planned for the stage. La La Land already has taken a successful turn as a concert, and now this Broadway musical can give fans another way to enjoy the story. This stage musical will be unstoppable, featuring toe-tapping beats and heartwarming song lyrics by the film’s composing team of Justin Hurwitz, Benj Pasek, and Justin Paul.
