The truth is STILL out there. That’s right, X-Files is currently under development to come back, but this time as an animated comedy series currently titled X-Files: Albuquerque. Before you get too excited, it will not be focusing on Mulder (David Duchovny) or Scully (Gillian Anderson).

If you remember, we have seen Mulder and Scully in animated form before in The Simpsons. But, X-Files: Albuquerque will focus on a group of agents investigating the cases that the Mulder and Scully think are too out there for them to explore – I didn’t even know there were such cases.
Chris Carter, the creator of X-Files, will be joining the project as an executive producer. Writing the pilot will be Rocky Russo and Jeremy Sosenko (Paradise PD), who will join Carter and former X-Files writer Gabe Rotter as executive producers.
The live version of the series ran for nine seasons and a two-season revival from 1993 to 2018, where we were gifted with 217 episodes. We can’t forget the two movies, video games, books, and countless merchandise that the iconic science fiction series spawned.
Stay tuned for more information as it gets released. For fun, watch the video for the 25th X-Files anniversary below.
