Hulu’s excellent drama series Normal People has touched hearts and caused tears to fall around the world since its premiere in April. Clearly, Emmy voters felt the same way, because the series has been nominated for four Emmy Awards! It’s nice to have a happy reason to cry over Normal People for once.
While the show was not nominated for Best Limited Series (was robbed) or Best Actress in a Limited Series (DAISY EDGAR-JONES WAS ROBBED), Normal People star Paul Mescal received his first Emmy nomination for his work as Connell. Director Lenny Abrahamson and writers Alice Birch and Sally Rooney also received recognition alongside the casting department for the series.
