Looking Back at Some of Our Favorite Chuckle-Worthy Chuck Shurley Moments from ‘Supernatural’

Share:

Supernatural‘s extensive 15 season run has been wrought with ups and downs alike. Despite some of the darker themes and storylines that have dominated the series, Supernatural has always retained its ability to make us laugh with side-splitting moments from episodes such as  “Mystery Spot” and “Dog Dean Afternoon.” Over the years, villains and heroes alike have graced us with some truly laughable (and memorable to say the least) moments, and Chuck Shurley — who might just fall in both categories — is no exception. Below, we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite funny Chuck moments from past seasons of Supernatural.

1. “Some free advice? You ever get back there, you hoard toilet paper. You understand me? Hoard it. Hoard it like it’s made of gold. ‘Cause it is.”

Croatoan? More like COVID-19.

2. Sam Winchester: W-We all know that you are God, um, but… maybe could you be a-a little less… Lordly?

Chuck: But I am – I am the Lord.

Chuck may be an all-powerful being of the universe, but we see he still hasn’t mastered the art of the humblebrag.

3. “You know what humanity’s greatest creation has been? Music. That and nacho cheese. Even I couldn’t have dreamt up that deliciousness.”

-Season 11, Episode 20 “Don’t Call Me Shurley”

Can’t argue with that one.

4. Last time I saw that look on an editor’s face, I’d just handed in “Bugs.”

We’re never above a little meta poke at the writers.

5. Chuck: I am the prophet, Chuck!

Lilith: You’ve got to be joking

Chuck’s feeble delivery in the face of danger gives this line all of its comedic value.

6. Rowena: Sorry about, well, everything I’ve ever done in my life. Really, y-you can’t have been a fan.

Chuck: Oh, yeah, I’ve been quietly rooting against you both for some time now. Although, I can’t deny you’re one of my guilty pleasures.

I think I can safely say that we are all Chuck.

7. “Ugh. Billie. I liked the old Death better. He was all about fried pickles and tickle porn. This new Death … she’s always sticking her scythe where it doesn’t belong.”

-Season 14, Episode 20 “Moriah”

And everyone calls Castiel the creeper.

8. “Listen, you guys know me. I’m hands-off. I built the sandbox — you play in it. You want to fight Leviathans? Cool. You got that. You want to go up against … what was it? The British Men of Letters? Okay. Little weak, but okay. But when things get really bad, like the Apocalypse or the Other Apocalypse, that’s when I have to step in.”

And finally, Chuck poking fun at the Winchesters’ misadventures.

The current episodes from season 15 will be available on Netflix on June 5 (read more about it here). Supernatural will return in the fall to close out its 15th and final season, hopefully with more Chuck. Let us know some of your favorite Supernatural funnies in the comments!
