Good news and sad news: the Netflix original series Atypical has been renewed for a fourth season, but it will be the show’s last. Premiering in 2017, Atypical follows the life of 18-year-old Sam Gardner, a high schooler on the autism spectrum. The show takes viewers through the challenges and triumphs Sam faces in life, as well those of his parents, Elsa and Doug, and his sister Casey.

The most recent season three brought some major life changes for the Gardners: Sam started college, Casey discovered more about her identity after realizing she had feelings for her friend Izzie, and their parents’ relationship was tested after Elsa cheated on Doug. Season four will surely bring more challenges for the family, but will hopefully allow them some much needed resolutions.

Atypical stars Keir Gilchrist as Sam, Brigette Lundy-Paine as Casey, Jennifer Jason Leigh as Elsa, Michael Rapaport as Doug, Fivel Stewart as Izzie, Nik Dodani as Sam’s best friend Zahid, Jenna Boyd as Sam’s girlfriend Paige, and Graham Rogers as Casey’s ex-boyfriend Evan.

There’s still no word yet on when season four will release. You can follow Atypical on Twitter to keep up with season four news, behind-the-scenes looks, and more. In the meantime, watch seasons 1-3 of Atypical on Netflix.
