Hamilton, the arguably biggest musical phenomenon of the last decade, is coming to the big screen in 2021. Writer and producer Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also starred in the original cast, has just announced on Twitter that the musical will be released in theaters on October 15, 2021, and will be presented by Disney.

The recording will be the version of the musical with the original Broadway cast, meaning it will not only include Miranda as Hamilton, but also Jonathan Groff as King George, Leslie Odom Jr. as Aron Burr and Daveed Diggs as Lafayette/Jefferson. The version was filmed before most of the original cast left the musical in 2016.
Hamilton has been selling out theaters all over the U.S., on national tours and in the West End in London, but seeing it with the original cast will undoubtedly be a treat for every fan of the musical. We’re definitely willing to wait for it.
