The deluxe edition of the book includes a new introduction written by Angie Thomas (The Hate You Give, On the Come Up), an afterword is written by Silvera discussing more in-depth what MHTN and Aaron Soto’s story has meant to him, and a brand-new final chapter that continues the unforgettable protagonist’s story.

More Happy Than Not follows 16-year-old Aaron Soto in the months after his father’s death. No matter how hard he tries, Aaron can’t seem to find happiness, even with the support of his girlfriend Genevieve. After meeting and befriending Thomas, a new kid in the neighborhood, Aaron begins to form new feelings he’d rather not have, regardless of the happiness he finds with Thomas. Eventually, he decides to turn to the Leteo Institute’s memory-altering procedure to deal with his feelings. MHTN is a profoundly moving story about what it means to happy, even if you have to lose a part of yourself to find it.
