Demigods, your godly parents are finally starting to get faces put to the names. Another familiar face on Mount Olympus has been revealed. According to Deadline, Lin-Manuel Miranda will be portraying none other than Hermes.

You can read the character description of Hermes per Deadline below:

“Hermes, the messenger god who looks out for travelers and thieves, and is a bit of a trickster himself. He is charismatic & boisterous, the life of the party. Unfortunately, his charm does not do much to heal his strained relationship with his son, Luke (Charlie Bushnell). He’s hesitant to help Percy and his friends on their quest as sometimes getting involved is more trouble than it’s worth.”

Miranda is well known for his works Hamilton, In The Heights, His Dark Materials, and more. The actor/director/writer/songwriter/producer (need we go on?) has garnered a Grammy, Emmy, Tony, and Pulitzer Prize.

The first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is set to follow the events of the book series’ first novel, The Lightning Thief. The main cast trio consists of Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase), and Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood). Additionally, Charlie Bushnell (Luke Castellan), Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse La Rue), Olivea Morton (Nancy Bobofit), Jason Mantzoukas (Mr. D/Dionysus), Virginia Kull (Sally Jackson), Megan Mullaly (Mrs. Dodds/Alecto), Glynn Turman (Chiron), and Timm Sharp (Gabe “Smelly Gabe” Ugliano), Adam Copeland (Ares), Suzanne Cryer (Echidna), and Jessica Parker Kennedy (Medusa) have been cast in the production.

For those unfamiliar with the premise, Percy Jackson and the Olympians‘ logline can be found below.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson (Scobell), who’s just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover (Simhadri) and Annabeth (Jeffries), Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 1 is currently set to debut in 2024. The production is currently underway in Vancouver. As always, stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
