‘Torchwood’ Will Be Back in April 2020 for More Big Finish Stories
The future of Torchwood is so bright, they’ve gotta wear shades!
The beloved Cardiff team of alien hunters will be back in a new monthly series of audio dramas produced by Big Finish starting in April 2020.
Torchwood was created in 2006 by Russell T. Davies as a Doctor Who spin-off. It follows a team of agents operating in modern Cardiff under the leadership of Captain Jack Harkness, former Time Agent turned con man and then companion of the Ninth Doctor.
In February, Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles) and Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) will team up in Dissected. Agyeman will play Martha Jones for the first time since 2008.
April will see the debut of a new set of 12 adventures, which will be released monthly. The first four titles and writers already known are:
April:
Tropical Beach Sounds and Other Seascapes Vol 4 by Tim Foley
May:
Iceberg by Grace Knight
June:
Dinner and a Show by Gareth David-Lloyd
July:
Save Our Souls by Scott Handcock
The return of Burn Gorman (Owen Harper), Naoko Mori (Toshiko Sato), Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto Jones), and Rowena Cooper (Queen Victoria) is also already confirmed.
Producer of Big Finish’s Torchwood range, James Goss, said:
“If you’ve never listened to a Torchwood audio adventure before, now’s a great time. The next set of stories are unpredictable, messy, sometimes funny, and sometimes horrible. In these four announced titles alone, an alien opera arrives in Cardiff, Queen Victoria battles ghosts from the future, a Mars Base turns up just off the A474, and a malevolent entity takes over the voice of… well, you’ll just have to wait and see…”
The Torchwood monthly releases are available for individual stories pre-order or a bundle, which allows customers to save money, on the Big Finish website. The stories can be ordered either as CD or download. Digital copies can be downloaded on the Big Finish app.
