Riverdale is arguably one of the most popular shows on television today. With a mix of teenage drama, outrageous plots, and adding new and old faces to the teen cast plus a slew of superstars for the parents, it became an instant hit when it first premiered in January 2017. At New York Comic Con, new details emerged about the upcoming season with a sneak preview of what’s going down.
The trailer starts with the Core Four at Pop’s, talking about camping and senior year and how they’ll all be going their own ways when they go off to college. Archie sees his dad is calling him and receives the worst news of his life. Also included in the trailer is Betty talking to her long-lost brother, Charles, trying to figure out why Alice hasn’t been checking in. Cheryl checks in on her dead brother, Jason, whose corpse she’s keeping in her house. Veronica is trying to get more dirt on her father, who is in prison. Jughead starts at a new prep school. Major bonus: Bughead, Varchie, Choni, and Falice scenes were included, giving fans what they really want!
As previously noted, the season 4 premiere will be a tribute to the late Luke Perry, who died earlier this spring due to a stroke. Perry played Archie’s father, Fred, and after his passing, the show simply said he was on a trip, but now fans and the characters can finally get closure. Catch the season 4 premiere of Riverdale this Wednesday, October 9 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on The CW.
