‘The Lion King’ Coming to Digital, DVD, and Blu-ray in October

The story of Simba and Pride Rock, told in the movie The Lion King, will go on sale this October. Fans can relive Simba going from a young cub to becoming the king he was meant to be and take back his home from his evil uncle Scar. Listen to the beautiful music and songs as Nala and Simba fall in love. Feel the heartbreak of that tragic Mufasa moment, all set in the breathtaking African savanna.

A digital copy of the film will be available starting October 11, and the Ultimate Collector’s Edition: 4K UHD with Blu-ray will be available October 22. Special features include “The Journey to The Lion King,” “More to Be Seen” layer-by-layer developments of iconic moments filmmaker introduction and audio commentary with director Jon Favreau, The “Protect the Pride” campaign to protect and revitalize the lion population, and more. The Disney Song Selection Sing-Along and music lyric videos include “Spirit,” “Be Prepared,” “Hakuna Matata,” “Circle of Life,” and other iconic singles.
Also available for pre-order are limited time offers of three special editions. Coming soon is the digital duo collection that has the animated and photorealistic CGI remake of The Lion King. The Target Exclusive comes with 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and digital copies of the film, plus a filmmaker gallery book; while the Best Buy exclusive includes a collectible steelbook.
