September Video Game Releases


Video games are more prominent now than ever. We are seeing more immersion in conventions, as well as mainstream media, and it only continues to grow.

This month in San Diego, California from September 27 – 29, is the 2019 TwitchCon. Twitch is a live streaming video platform that focuses on live video game streaming. TwitchCon has multiple streamers, guests, and fans play video games, learn about the platforms, and more.

Regardless of the platform you use, Play Station 4 (PS4), Xbox One (XBO), Nintendo Switch (NS), Computer (PC) etc., there is a game for you to enjoy. Check out this list of some of the anticipated video games to be released in September!

September 3

Catherine: Full Body (PS4)

Vincent and Katherine have been together for five years, but instead of getting married Vincent begins an affair with Catherine. In his dilemma, Vincent starts having nightmares forcing him to climb and fight for his life, will he survive or fall?

Children of Morta (PC)

In a distant land, players go on an adventure as a family of heroes, the Bergson’s, fighting the corruption that threatens the land. This is not a story on saving the universe, it’s a story about the family surviving the darkness swallowing their surroundings. Each character has different expertise and background and remember, it runs in the family.

Conan Chop Chop (PC, PS4, XBO, NS)

A wizard named Thoth-Amon is trying to bring back an ancient evil called Xaltotun that will condemn the world. Players must summon all they have to use their swords and…Chop Chop. Choose from warriors, gods, and weapons to fight and help on the quests.

Last Oasis (PC)

In this Nomadic survival game, the earth has stopped rotating, only two extreme climates are left–blazing heat from the sun and ice. There is only a small space in between that can support life. Players must find ways to survive by getting resources, building a Walker, and honing their skills.

Phoenix Point (PC, XBO)

It is 2047, and the aliens are invading and wiping out humans. With Lovecraft inspired aliens, players fight and try to save humanity from being killed off. Starting off at the command base, Phoenix Point, how the game ends is up to the player’s choices in the game.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy (PC, NS)

In this bundle, players get: Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Revenge and Spyro: Year of the Dragon.

September 4

Warsaw (PC)

In occupied Warsaw 1944, players must get the help of soldiers and civilians to fight against the enemy. Each having their own ability, expertise, and skill to overthrow the Germans.

September 5

WRC 8 (PC, PS4, XBO)

This is the official game of the 2019 World Rally Championship. Players take the wheel and race on over 100 tracks and unpredictable weather in either competition mode or starting from the bottom and making a career.

River City Girls (PS4, XBO, NS, PC)

As either Kyoko or Misako, street-tough high schoolers, players fight through River City to rescue their boyfriends, Kunio and Riki.

September 6

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne DLC (PS4, XBO)

This expansion pack comes with more powerful monsters, challenges, and quests. The new story continues from where the game left off in Monster Hunter: World as players search through Hoarfrost Reach and make discoveries. 

NBA 2K20 (PC, PS4, XBO, NS)

Players can take it to the next level with customizing their players and teams, then playing and earning points. There are three versions of the game available, Standard Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, and Legend Edition.

September 10

eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 (PC, PS4, XBO)

For the first time in this game’s series, a new game mode called Matchday is included. In this mode, players from all over the world help their team one game at a time to win. In Master League, players go through the season in the manager seat, now featuring interactive dialogues. Each team features real players.

Gears 5 (PC, XBO)

Bound by blood, Kait Diaz tries to find the truth in her connection to the enemy and finds the real danger to Sera, is herself. There are four characters to choose from Kait Diaz, JD Fenix, Del Walker, and Marcus Fenix (JD’s father) for players to choose from as they go through the five campaigns.

GreedFall (PC, PS4, XBO)

Pollution, overpopulation, and disease are why the world is dying, but there is hope. Teer Fradee is an island that the plague has not reached, players travel and look for a cure, but they are not alone. Creating a character from scratch, players gain skills and create their own experience.

September 12

Men of War: Assault Squad 2 – Cold War (PC)

Players can choose which side to fight on, the US or Soviet Union, as they control armies and complete missions and claim victory.

September 13

Borderlands 3 (PC, PS4, XBO)

Along with the raids the game is already known for, it will introduce a new mode called Proving Grounds. In this mode, players face a wave of enemies under a time constriction, but the rewards make it worth your while. Players will also have four new characters to choose from in the Vault Hunters. Mayhem is coming, are you ready?

Daemon X Machina (NS)

In a great disaster, the moon was ripped apart, creating a red kaleidoscope of light in the sky. Players must defend the planet from A.I. controlled robots and survive this apocalyptic event.

NHL 20 (PS4, XBO)

Players can become their favorite NHL player and use their signature moves and shots in the journey to take home the Stanley Cup. Also being introduced are new games modes, including winner-take-all and a broadcast package.

NASCAR Heat 4 (PS4, XBO, PC)

Based on the 2019 racing season, players can go through career mode and race on the various tracks. Also included are the four series tracks: NASCAR Cup, Xfinity, Trucks, and Extreme Dirt. 

September 17

AI: The Somnium Files (PC, PS4, NS)

Set in Tokyo, detective Kaname Date investigates serial killings by going into the memories of witnesses and suspects for information. The ending is based on what the player chooses and only sees the whole story by going through each route. Using his left fake eye named Aiba, Dante tries to find the killer that takes people’s left eye.

Bus Simulator (PS4, XBO)

Create a bus company in the fictional city of Seaside Valley in Europe. Players must transport their passengers to their destinations safely and on time. Challenges include traffic, weather, construction, and more. Your bus. Your route. Your schedule.

September 19

Truck Driver (PS4, XBO)

Players inherit a truck from their uncle and move to another city to make a name for themself. Driving on the open road and working with various customers, you honor your uncle by making it as a truck driver. 

September 20

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (NS)

This remake features customizable dungeons, bosses, puzzles, and more. As Link, players are stranded on Koholit Island after a big storm. Marin rescues Link which begins the quest to get the eight Instruments of the Sirens, to waken Windfish and get off the island.

LEGO Jurassic World (NS)

Players can explore Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna in this game that follows the storyline of all four Jurassic Park films. There are over 100 unlockable characters to play including dinosaurs. Players solve puzzles and more with the help of Mr. DNA giving hints. 

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (NS) and Ni No Kuni Remastered: Wrath of the White Witch (PC, PS4)

Oliver goes on a journey, bringing his copy of the Wizard’s Companion, with the help of his friend, Drippy. Players battle against various enemies while trying to bring back Oliver’s mother. 

The Sojourn (PC, PS4, XBO)

This world is a thought-provoking puzzle game. Players are guided by light and try to overcome obstacles to move forward in the light, darkness, and reality.

 September 24

Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear (PS4, XBO, NS)

This D&D expansion pack takes place between Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn. Several weeks after Sarevok’s death, players go in the catacombs to hunt the remaining forces of Sarevok. Throughout the game, the player is repeatedly visited by a man in a hood who teaches the player about their heritage and skills.  But can he be trusted?

Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition (PS4, XBO, NS)

Set in the Forgotten Realms of Faerun, D&D players create their character and travel around figuring out mysteries, puzzles, and more while trying to survive.

Contra Rogue Corps (PC, PS4, XBO, NS)

In the Damned City, people just go mad from being there. Players choose between four characters and create a weapon in real-time to go up against the aliens.

Dead by Daylight (NS)

Four survivors must escape a killer. The catch, survivors cannot fight the killer–only escape and put obstacles in the way. There are a variety of characters, both survivor and killer, for players to choose from. Will you be able to get through the tasks in the game and survive?

Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition (PS4, XBO, NS)

Covered in scars and tattoos, but little memory of how you got them, players are the Nameless One. Players go through the streets of Sigil and the Outer Planes, its discovered memories and destiny cannot be outrun. 

The Surge 2 (PC, PS4, XBO)

On the way to Jericho City, an unknown storm takes down your plane. Weeks later, you wake up in a detention facility and Martial Law is in effect. Players fight to survive and get stronger with each battle. Overcome. Upgrade. Survive.

September 26

Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition (NS)

Death is the most feared of the Four Horsemen. Players become the frightening force and go on a quest to redeem his brothers’ names and restore mankind.

Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones (PC)

Creating a character, players go deep into the Abyss and battle unknown mythical forces trying to break you.

September 27

Code Vein (PC, PS4, XBO)

In this vampiric post-apocalyptic world, gifts and abilities come from drinking blood.

Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition (NS)

Continuing from the previous games, players explore and fight against monsters.

FIFA 20 (PC, PS4, XBO)

Players can build their dream team and go between the professional and prestige. This game features an all-new street football experience.
