Featured items include: The original USS Enterprise navigation console; Kirk, Spock, Uhura, and McCoy’s costumes and the six-foot USS Enterprise filming model from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

In addition, the Skirball Cultural Center hopes to highlight the impact of the Star Trek phenomenon on today’s culture. Promotional materials state:

Both longtime fans and those new to the cultural phenomenon will learn how 50-plus years after a television program with modest ratings first aired, the stories and messages of Star Trek continue to resonate worldwide.
