Trailer Released for ‘The Kitchen’
A trailer has just been released for the new movie The Kitchen, starring Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, and Elisabeth Moss. Out in theaters on August 9th, the movie’s cast rounds out with Domhnall Gleeson, Common, Margo Martindale, James Badge Dale, Brian d’Arcy James, and Bill Camp.
The movie is based on the DC Vertigo graphic novel of the same name, written by Ollie Masters and featuring art by Ming Doyle. Set in Hell’s Kitchen, New York during the 1970’s, three women turn to a life of crime to make ends meet while their husbands are in prison. These three women shed their expected roles of “mother” and “wife” to take on the Irish Mafia in a place of leadership, the roles their husbands left open in their absence. They seem to take over with ease and develop a taste for crime that they may not be able to quit.
The trailer promises action, power, drama, and suspense. It looks like it will be one hell of a ride from start to finish, with an awesome 70’s inspired soundtrack, if The Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black” in the trailer is any indication. The trailer even shows sparks of comedy in this crime drama.
Check out the trailer below, and be sure to check out the movie when it’s released in theaters August 9th!
